Veterans Appreciation Dinner

On November 11, 2021 our moose lodge #2206 honored our valued Veterans, our Veterans that could not be with us, and our Veterans every where. Our service members and their families are not just honored on Veterans day but everyday. They are our heroes! We are always grateful and appreciate them for all they have sacrificed to protect our freedom at home.

Somerville Moose Lodge #2206 has 19 veteran members and 12 of them joined us for the appreciation dinner. That was a great turn out!

We decorated the lodge with a flag of every branch of service and embellished the tables with red, white and blue tablecloths with beautiful flowers at each table. There were door prizes and patriotic music playing. The Verterans shared their powerful and touching service stories and we had a guest speaker Chris Williams who recited the poem "Stand Up". We then followed up with a certificate of apprieciation honoring our vets. They also received plaques and pins. Thank you to Somerville Sonic for issing gift cards and Caris for making the certificates for our Vets! There was a special recognition certificate given to Ronnie Stafford Ret. National Guard for Valued Veteran of the Year. For being the ultimate example of a Moose Member serving others. Way to go Ronnie!

The Chapter prepared a delicious buffet dinner for our service members, their spouse, or a special guest. There was a good turn out of members who showed up to honor our vets! The buffet dinner had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, bacon green bean casserole, broccoli au gratin, corn casserole, coleslaw, potato salad, and a beautiful sheet cake with a bald eagle on it for dessert!
